When in December 2006, Suchitra Film Society and Suchitra Cinema and Cultural Academy embarked on the 1st Suchitra Bengalooru International Film Festival and completed the ambitious multidimensional project, it had a promise to keep-to make the festival an annual event and Bengalooru's pride. The time has now come to redeem that promise for the third time.
The 3rd Bengalooru International Film Festival is all set to happen, with a slight change in its schedule. From now on the Bengalooru International Film Festival Organized by Suchitra in collaboration with the Government of Karnataka and supported by the Kannada Film Industry, will be held every year in the third week of January, to suit some readjustments in the schedules of the other prestigious State-based International Film Festivals. The 3rd Bengalooru International Film Festival will now be held between January 15 and 22, 2009, ringing in the New Year with a major global cultural event.
The Festival, to be staged at the Vision Cinemas complex, K.H.Patil Auditorium and Suchitra Auditorium in the heart of Bengalooru, will adopt some essential reforms both in content and organization.
